What cookies are
A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser. This site also uses your browser's local storage (localStorage and sessionStorage), which works in a similar way. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of these technologies.
How your consent works
The first time you visit, you see a notice with three options: “Accept all,” “Reject all” and “Customize.” Analytics and advertising cookies stay off until you accept them; no box is pre-checked.
We store your choice for 180 days in the pgt_consent cookie. After that, or if we change this policy, we ask you again.
The site uses Google's consent mode (Consent Mode v2, advanced mode) with the optional categories denied by default, in every country. In this mode, Google tags load even if you do not accept cookies, but they send cookieless signals, that is, signals without identifiers stored in your browser. Google uses these signals to estimate visits and ad results in aggregate.
If you arrive from a Google ad and have not accepted advertising cookies, the click identifier may be passed from page to page in the web address (URL), without being stored in cookies.
Cookies we use
Necessary
These make the site and the booking process work, and remember your choice. They cannot be turned off.
Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Punta Gallinas Tours | Remembers your cookie choice | 180 days |
| Punta Gallinas Tours | Remembers the currency you chose in the price selector | Until you clear your browser data |
Cloudflare Turnstile | Cloudflare | Checks that the person submitting a contact, quote, booking or review form is human | Set by Cloudflare |
Analytics
These tell us which pages are visited and how people reach them. They are only enabled if you accept them.
Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors to count visits | 2 years |
| Google Analytics | Keeps the session state | 2 years |
| Microsoft Clarity, only if enabled | Link the pages you view during a visit to understand how the site is used | Set by Microsoft |
Mux Data | Mux | Measures video playback quality, such as interruptions or loading times | Does not store cookies |
Advertising
These measure whether our ads lead to a booking and let us show you related ads. They are only enabled if you accept them.
Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Ads | Link a booking to the Google ad that led to it | Set by Google |
| Meta, only if campaigns are running on Facebook or Instagram | Link a booking to the Meta ad that led to it | Set by Meta |
| Punta Gallinas Tours | Stores ad click identifiers to attribute the booking | Until you close the tab |
When you book or request a quote, the site may send the result to Google Analytics and, if enabled, to Meta from our server. It only does so if you accepted the corresponding category.
Google Analytics cookie durations are taken from Google's documentation on Analytics cookies, accessed October 5, 2026. Clarity cookie names are taken from the Microsoft Clarity cookie list, accessed October 5, 2026.
Videos and third-party content
YouTube videos appear as a still image, and nothing loads from YouTube until you click. When you play a video, it loads from youtube-nocookie.com, and Google may store information in your browser under its own policy.
Videos hosted on Mux load when you click play, with the player's cookies turned off. Mux Data only measures playback if you accepted analytics cookies.
The WhatsApp button opens WhatsApp, a Meta service. Anything you write there is also subject to WhatsApp's terms.
How to change or withdraw your consent
Open “Cookie preferences” in the footer of any page, change the categories and select “Save choices.”
If you withdraw consent for analytics, the site deletes _ga, _ga_NJ2X8PD226, _gid, _gat and the Clarity cookies. If you withdraw consent for advertising, it deletes the _gcl_ cookies, _fbp and _fbc, and the campaign identifiers stored in the session.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you delete pgt_consent, the cookie notice appears again.

Changes to this policy
If we add a new provider or cookie, we update this page. If what we ask you to accept changes, we ask you again in the cookie notice.
