La Guajira tours are private, priced per person according to the number of travelers in the booking (1 to 6 or more); the 'from' price applies to groups of 6 or more. Tours from Santa Marta (Ciudad Perdida, Minca and Tayrona National Park) are group tours with a fixed per-person price.
La Guajira tours are for travelers over 6 years old. There is no child rate: each traveler pays the per-person rate for the group.
Book with 7% of the total or pay it all. The balance is paid before or at the start of the tour, in cash or by payment link.
After the deposit is paid the booking is 'pending confirmation' and an advisor confirms it within 12 hours at most.
No penalty if you cancel or change until 5:00 p.m. (Colombia time) on the business day before departure; after that, a 20% penalty on the total. No refund once the tour has started. Read the full policy
Punta Gallinas Tours is the Expotur Eco brand for tours to Alta Guajira: Expotur Eco runs the tours and receives bookings and payments.
Our three La Guajira tours leave from Riohacha: to Cabo de la Vela in 2 days and to Punta Gallinas in 3 or 4 days, with nights in chinchorro hammocks in Wayuu rancherías (settlements). For travelers who don't want a tour package, we also offer private 4×4 transport between Riohacha, Cabo de la Vela and Punta Gallinas. Our office is in Riohacha, at Cra 5 #3A-02. Our advisors answer on WhatsApp and through the contact form, and they confirm each booking within 12 hours of the deposit at most.
On the road, each La Guajira tour is led by a driver-guide from the region who speaks Spanish; a translator is not included. The regional food is cooked by local cooks.
The La Guajira tours sleep in Wayuu rancherías and stop in Uribia, known as Colombia's Indigenous capital. The itineraries include the night in a chinchorro hammock at the ranchería, regional food and stops in Uribia and at the Manaure salt flats.

Once in a lifetime memory. An amazing experience albeit tougher than I thought it would be. Nothing really to change - It's good being a bit primitive as it keeps it as a special experience for those few who are willing to do it. Our guides Jose, Mai and chef Jesus were great.
